SayGames and STUDIOCANAL Bring “Terminator 2: Judgment Day” to Tower War in a Limited-Time In-Game Event
Global mobile publisher SayGames and STUDIOCANAL, Europe’s leading film and television studio, have announced a new in-game event for Tower War, featuring the iconic Terminator 2, Judgment Day.
May 15, 2026
Tower War, developed by Pavetra, is a strategy hit with over 132 million downloads, built around territory control and fast-paced tactical decision-making, where players lead armies, capture towers, and outmaneuver opponents in real time.
Running from May 15 to June 30, the collaboration introduces a themed gameplay experience inspired by Terminator 2: Judgment Day, as the Tower War universe is overtaken by Skynet. Notably, this year marks the film’s 35th anniversary, adding a symbolic layer to the partnership.
The event is designed as a natural extension of the core gameplay loop: players join the Resistance and battle against Skynet across a dedicated set of branded levels, while familiar mechanics - unit control, tower capture, and progression - remain at the center of the experience.
Delivered in two phases, the event expands the game’s systems through structured progression, including a Battle Pass, gacha-based mechanics, and a separate set of 50 levels available for a limited time. Players can unlock exclusive rewards, including iconic characters such as T-800 and Sarah Connor, each featuring unique abilities. These rewards will remain with players after the event ends and can be used in the core game, reinforcing long-term progression.
At the same time, resources earned during the event remain integrated into the core game economy, further supporting player growth beyond the event itself.
This collaboration reflects a growing trend of deeper IP integrations in mobile games - moving beyond cosmetic partnerships toward mechanics-driven, system-level experiences.
For us, this event was an opportunity to rethink how narrative and mechanics can work together. We wanted the Terminator theme to feel like a natural extension of Tower War, not just a visual layer — something players experience through gameplay
“We see growing interest in collaborations built around cultural IP — but the real shift is in how these partnerships are executed,” said Yegor Vaikhanski, CEO and Co-Founder of SayGames. “It’s no longer just about adding recognizable characters — it’s about integrating IP into the game’s systems in a way that enhances player experience and creates new layers of engagement. For many of us on the team, Terminator is something we grew up with, so being able to work with this universe is genuinely exciting.”
“We’re excited to see the Terminator universe brought into this interactive format,” said Valerie Rolandez-Barrios, SVP IP and Partnerships at STUDIOCANAL. “This collaboration opens new ways for audiences to engage with the franchise, reaching players through dynamic, evolving experiences."
